In part I of our People series, “Grandpa,
Is Everything
Black Bad?”, Montsho questioned the goodness of his black skin because he saw so many black things in his life that were bad; bad guys on TV wore black, black cats brought bad luck, people wore black to funerals and so on. Montsho then learned of his proud heritage from his Grandfather whose wise words and magical drum helped Montsho to identify himself with his African heritage. At the end of “Grandpa, Is Everything Black Bad?”, Montsho asked his Grandfather whether white people had a heritage too? His grandfather replied, “We all do.” So, Montsho’s lesson continues as he learns that “We All Have A Heritage”. Join Montsho as his Grandfather introduces him to the world... |
